Setting up Competition Eligibility

Created by Jenna Clayton, Modified on Wed, 16 Apr at 11:33 AM by Jenna Clayton

Once your competition is set up you change who is eligible to enter the competition - Home members only, Affiliated visitors and Non-Affiliated Vistiors.

Click "Competition Setup" in the Competition Dashboard

If you want to open the comp to Affiliated and Non-Affiliated Visitors, you can tick the boxes under the "Eligibility" section

On the right hand side of this section, you will find "Eligibility Options" where you can set specific requirements for Eligibility and these can be changed by clicking Edit,

There are 5 eligibility options that you can set in your competition

1. Setting Max Handicap Index or Playing Handicap

This option allows you to set a maximum handicap index or playing handicap for players. If you define a value, e.g. max handicap index of 27, whoever plays with a handicap index more than 27 can still play but come results time, the system will use a 27 handicap index to calculate the player's score.

2. Scores are eligible for handicapping

This option allows you to have the scores to be eligible for handicapping or not. By default, this is ticked which means the scores are eligible for handicapping. If you want to untick this, the scores will not be eligible for handicapping which means the scores will not show against the member's scoring history.

Things to remember when scores are not eligible for handicapping (when this option is not ticked)

Scores will not show in the member's scoring history

Once the cards are printed, you cannot change the set up and tick it as the system has recognized that the cards are not eligible for handicapping. Before you print the cards, please make sure that you really do not want the scores to be eligible for handicapping.

Make sure that no other competitions contradicts it.

E.g. Competition A is not eligible for handicapping and Competition B is eligible for handicapping. If a player enters both comps, the competition that is not eligible for handicapping will OVERRIDE the comp that is eligible for handicapping and the player's scores will NOT appear in their scoring history due the the comp that is marked as NOT being Eligible for handicapping.

3. Restrict to pre-registered players only

This is used when you want the competition to be played by players that were pre-registered only. You can see the list of players on Competition Dashboard > Player Registration

4. Entries restricted by handicap

This allows you to restrict the players by their handicap index or playing handicap that was set under the divisions. Please note that this will not work if you didn't define values under the Divisions.

5. Entries restricted by category

This allows you to restrict the players by the category they are in. This is only applicable for club's members and not with visitors.
