Basic Competition Set Up

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to setup a Basic Competition in Clubhouse. 

It includes details on filling in necessary information such as Competition Name, Competition Type, Rounds & Grades etc


Following this guide will ensure a smooth and accurate competition setup. 


1. Press "New"



2. Enter the Competition Name, Gender and select whether the competition is 9 hole or 18 holes. 

Please note: You cannot modify this once you have entered a scorecard into the competition.



3. Select Competition Types

Note: You can add or remove competitions types at any time if required, once you have changed the competition type/s and saved the changes, the Competition Results will automatically be recalculated to match the competition type that you have amended the competition to.



4. Check the date and time of the competition. The start and end time will determine when a member can get a scorecard for the competition.

If you wish to add more rounds, please select "Add Round" 



If more rounds are added to the Competition, an additional box will appear on the right hand side with further settings that can be adjusted. Select "Edit" to view the additional settings:

  • All Rounds count with No Cut
    • This can be updated to:
      • Best Round Counts with No Cut
      • Best Round Counts with Cut after round 1 etc.
  • Entries will be automatically entered into subsequent rounds
    • This can be unticked to enable Manual Entries into Subsequent Rounds
  • Using current player GA Handicap 
    • This can be ticked to Freeze Competition Handicaps


5. To add a Grade to the competition, select "Add Grade" 


After selecting "Add Grade", there will be an option to add a grade based on either GA Handicap or Daily Handicap, use the dropdown to make a selection. 


A table will also appear where you can add one or more grade to the competition. 

For each grade, you will need to enter either the GA Handicap, Daily Hanidcap or the Age grade. 

  • GA / Daily Handicap: You will be required to enter the From - To handicap 
  • Age: You will be required to enter the From - To Age


You will also have the option to Freeze Grades across multiple rounds: 


6. You can then set the appropriate markers for the competition. 

You can either use the same Tee Markers across all Rounds and Grades, or adjust these for the round/grade as required. 

  • Default Markers: This selects the default markers within the club settings. To change, go to Settings > Default Markers
  • All Markers: Any eligible player can choose which marker they want to tee off from



7. Tick the necessary box if the competition will include Affiliated Visitors and Non-Affiliated Visitors

By default, Home Members can always enter to any competition. Unless the competition is set with restrictions

8. Set Appropriate Entry Fees, if required.



To the right of this, there are further Entry Options. 

  • Automatic entry
  • Entry fee includes Green Fee
  • Allow card creation from kiosk without a tee booking
  • Display on card tick to qualify


9. If the competition is recurring select this and choose when it recurs.

Note: Please be careful that when you enable this feature and you want to modify and delete the competition that you have set up, you need to do this manually – one by one).



10. Save Changes
